Potential For Homeless Violence Increases

Homeless Violence

The potential for homeless violence increases after a group from outside Dallas forced city staff including city marshal and homeless staff to surrender on a homeless sweep.

Reports say more than three dozen people showed up to stop the city’s efforts. City staff including the Office of Homeless Solutions and Marshals participated.

Homeless Violence

The group led by the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club carried long rifles. They obstructed the orderly tasks of city government. This led to the negotiated surrender where city staff left without doing their job.

This follows Dallas Police surrender to agitators with firearms at Dealey Montessori last year.

Homeless Violence

Per one report the city will not enforce whether people continue living in the homeless encampment under Interstate 45.

Homeless Violence

The presence of the Elm Fork John Brown Gun Club reminds Dallas citizens of the George Floyd protests.

Homeless Violence

Dallas saw a number of outside groups come into the city to agitate for violence. It led to a police response that injured bystander civilians.

These groups seemed to be encouraged by city council efforts to defund the police led by council members Bazaldua, Blackmon, Narvaez, and others.

Several are concerned that the criminal problem of homelessness will continue as long as there is a protection racket. Some have theorized that the protection racket comes from local drug dealers using these camps as a buffer to encroach on new territory.

Homeless Violence Raising Money For Schools?

The group also appears to be raising money as an unregistered charity. It is unclear where this school supply money would go in the request above. Is it for a Dallas student or another student outside the area? Will it go to a college aged student?

There is no clear indication and beyond Instagram this appears to be an antifa style operation.

Murdered 11 Year Old – One Mile From Deep Ellum

This murder continues wild west style violence in East Dallas that has plagued the city.

Chief Garcia has told city council members that crime is down, but only in certain areas. Overall violent crime is up across Dallas.

This murder of a child comes as finger pointing and a political blame game goes on in Dallas.

24 Hour Dallas, the Deep Ellum Foundation, and Safe Night LLC all point fingers at one another. They also accuse the Dallas police of not knowing how to battle crime. All three groups get some money from alcohol based interests.

Dallas Police Render Aid Repeat

Render Aid Repeat

Dallas police are looking for a suspect in an issue of failing to render aid repeat incident.

In a Facebook post, Dallas police social media account desribe a hit and run in the 3700 block of Cole Avenue.

Render Aid Repeat

Per the social media post:

On June 5, 2022, around 12:10 AM, a pedestrian was crossing the street at 3700 Cole Avenue, just south of Blackburn Street. The suspect vehicle, a small, dark-colored SUV, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of 3700 Cole Avenue and hit the pedestrian. The suspect vehicle left the scene of the accident without stopping to help. The vehicle appeared to have damage to the front end. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Dallas officers ask that anyone with information regarding the suspect, or the dark-colored suspect vehicle that hit the pedestrian, please contact Detective Sammy Shaw in Vehicle Crimes at (214) 671-0019. Please reference case number 100263-2022.

Render Aid Repeat

In mid May, two officers began a pursuit of a suspect for failure to turn on his lights. The suspect later had an accident, witnesses say caused by Dallas police, but despite failing to render aid and the man requiring CPR, the officers will not be charged.

They began a pursuit with lights and sirens, but broke off when the suspect began to evade police. Dallas Police has a policy stating unless the suspect is wanted for a felony or in the process of a felony they will not pursue for safety reasons.

Dash camera footage from the police car clearly shows that the vehicle the officers had been chasing along Martin Luther King Boulevard could be seen jumping a curb and crashing. It did so after the police car turned off its lights.

The suspect vehicle nearly hit a pedestrian after proceeding through a stop sign at a high rate of speed. He then lost control of his vehicle and his vehicle was engulfed in flames. Local bystanders removed the man from his vehicle.

Dallas Fire Rescue performed CPR on the man for an unknown period of time.

It is unclear if off duty Dallas Police Department officers are considered suspects in this crime given recent off duty officer DWI arrests.

Dustin Dillard, Tony Timpa Assailant, Promoted

Dustin Dillard

Dustin Dillard is being promoted by the Dallas Police Department despite his significant involvement in the assault of Tony Timpa. Dillard has been promoted to Senior Corporal – a position which provides front line field training to new officers.

Dillard is one of four officers implicated in the Tony Timpa excessive force case and per public video pinned tony Timpa to the ground for almost fifteen minutes.

The promotion comes as tactical unit officer Daniel Jamieson is arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Chief Garcia says he is appalled and embarrassed for two officers, one who was a training officer, who did not stop to render aid to the victim in a car crash which happened after a short police chase.

In August 2016, Timpa died at the hands of four Dallas Police officers. The result are accusations of excessive force and a civil rights case where the 5th United States Circuit Court of Appeals has already ruled that Dallas Police do not hold qualified immunity.

The city is currently representing Dillard and three other officers — Raymond Dominguez, Sgt. Kevin Mansell and Danny Vasquez in that case. In April 2022, the city appealed to the United States Supreme Court to prevent the case from being heard by a jury. Yesterday, the Supreme Court denied certiorari so a jury trial could proceed.

At the time of his death, Timpa was a 32 year old local executive who lived in Rockwall. He called 911 and stated he had depression and schizophrenia, but had not taken his medication.

Timpa had been handcuffed by local security when Dallas police arrived on scene. Police officers then further restrained him on the ground using zip ties on his feet.

In video later released, Timpa is heard saying, “You’re gonna kill me!” and officers replying “yes.”

On a custodial death report submitted to the state in 2016, the department answered “no” to questions about whether Timpa resisted arrest, threatened, or otherwise fought officers.

After he fell unconscious, the officers assumed he was asleep and, rather than confirm that he was breathing or feel for a pulse. Responding paramedics would later administer versed – a potent benzodiazepine sedative despite him likely already not breathing.

Officials on scene are later heard saying, “he didn’t just die down there, did he?”

A Dallas County Medical Examiner later stated Timpa’s cause of death was a homicide, sudden cardiac death due to “the toxic effects of cocaine and the stress associated with physical restraint.”

Within twenty minutes of arrival, Dillard and three other officers caused Timpa to stop breathing. On body cam video, Dillard – now a field training officer can be heard saying, “I hope I didn’t kill him.”

South Dallas Mass Shooting

South Dallas Mass Shooting

At least four ambulances were seen taking injured victims to local hospitals including one fourteen year old victim.

Police reported an eighteen year old male was in critical condition. The conditions and injuries of the other victims were not announced.

South Dallas Mass Shooting Part Of Larger Issues

The mass shooting was one of several instances of gun violence around Dallas early Sunday. A 55-year-old man was fatally shot in Old East Dallas shortly before 4:00AM. It follows a student trainer being shot by a Kimball High School basketball player almost a week ago.

Police are short on clues and anyone with information about the incident should contact Dallas police Detective Alec Lopez at alec.lopez@dallascityhall.com or (214) 671-3658. Please refer to case No. 048526-2022.

South Dallas Mass Shooting

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment. To make an anonymous tip, call (214) 373-8477.

There are concerns about Dallas Police Department’s ability to capture the shooter – as there are concerns in the Christmas Day Garland shooting. Other citizens are worried that if an arrest does happen, he or she will simply be let off the hook by a judge more interested in re-election than the rule of law.

New Endorsements For Jane Hope Hamilton

On Wednesday, three new endorsements for Jane Hope Hamilton dropped all from former 2022 Democratic candidates who opposed her in the March primary.

New Endorsements For Jane Hope Hamilton

Hamilton’s run off campaign started with the endorsement of State Representative, Chairman Rafael Anchía. She has now added former State Representative Barbara Mallory Caraway, former Councilwoman Vonciel Jones Hill, and former Constable Roy Williams Jr.

The New Endorsements For Jane Hope Hamilton

Congressional District 30 needs a representative in Washington who will work to lower prescription drug costs so families won’t have to make the hard decusion between the high cost of medication and putting food on the table. We need someone who will work for safer neighborhoods by decreasing the escalating gun violence and crime plaguing our district. At the same time we need a representative who will work to ensure we keep our voting rights in this crumbling Democracy. That person is Jane Hope Hamilton.

Former State Representative Barbara Mallory Caraway

Jane Hope Hamilton has my support for Congress. Her history of advocating for our neighborhoods and speaking up for our underserved populations makes her the right choice. I look forward to working with her in Congress as we both continue to serve our communities.

Former Constable Roy Williams Jr.
