Per city officials, Municipal Court cannot accept payments in person, online, or by phone due to “tech” issues.

Muni Court Closed Again

City officials continue claims this is not related to the previous ransomware attack. That issue held city services hostage and took more than a month to correct.

There are no court hearings, trials, or jury duty Friday, July 14.

All cases planned for Friday, July 14 will be reset. Updated court dates will be mailed to the address the court has on file.

Citation payments due while the Municipal Court system is down will be accepted after service is restored. You can also mail in any payments, requests, or documents.

Service affected included public safety, the courts, and the library system.

Information Technology issues have plagued the city for more than a decade.

Beyond the recent ransomware attack there is also the March 2021 Dallas police data loss. The public was never provided with a full picture of the data issues then, but rumors persist it contributed to Chris Caso’s departure.

It is unclear when city and citizen data will be safe again.

Julio Guerrero Back On Streets Today

Julio Guerrero

An accused murder, Julio Guerrero, is back on the streets today after Dallas Judge Chika Anyiam lowered his bond from $2,000,000 to $500,000.

Julio Guerrero

The bond amount meant a $50,000 fee could be paid for him to be released. His lawyer, Tom Cox, who owns a bail bond company made payment on the bail himself. Cox has also contributed $5000 to the reelection of Chika Anyiam causing one local court watcher to ask about ex parte conversations.

The move by Judge Chika Anyiam angered both the victim’s family and the Dallas Police Association. Anyiam is the Dallas Democrats nominee for Dallas Criminal Court 7 after their March primary.

Julio Guerrero History

Guerrero has a long history of violence and is considered a repeat offender.

Guerrero had been arrested in June 2021 for murdering Francisco Villanueva for “bumping” into him at a nightclub per Dallas Police.

Three days after the nightclub murder he shot a three year old in the head during a road rage incident.

Chris Suprun Running For Justice of Peace

Earlier today Chris Suprun, filed paperwork with Dallas County Clerk John Warren to run for Justice of Peace in Precinct 3, Place 2 as a Democrat.

Chris Suprun

Chris Suprun

Suprun is most known for his historic stand against Donald Trump in 2016 as a member of the Texas Electoral College when he was a Republican.

At the time, Suprun published an oped in the New York Times detailing his opposition which garnered more than one million views in twenty-four hours.

He has since worked to elect Democrats and campaigned for Joe Biden in 2020. State Democrats did not designate him on their slate of electors for Joe Biden in 2020 though.

After his 2016 announcement he was accused of stolen valor and faking 9-11 service, but a Freedom of Information Act response from the FBI along with two affidavits show his presence at the 2001 terror attack.

Additionally, Texas Republican Senator Bob Hall sponsored a proclamation recognizing his service in Arlington, Virginia that day.

Zephi Trevino Certification Hearing Today

Certification Hearing

The certification hearing on whether Zephi trevino will be tried as an adult will be held today.

Certification Hearing

Justin Moore is representing the Trevino family.

The focus of the story: 17-year-old Zephaniah “Zephi” Trevino and 19-year-old Philip Baldenegro. Both have been accused in the deadly shooting that happened in August 2019.

The young girl claims she isn’t guilty. Her family has said she was being sex trafficked by Baldenegro.

David Finn, Baldenegro’s attorney called the sex trafficking allegations a “smoke screen.”

Beyond The Certification Hearing

Beyond the certification hearing, Trevino’s case has attracted Hollywood attention from Jamie Lee Curtis, Demi Lovato, and now, Kim Kardashian West.

It has also attracted attention of political activists angry that Dallas District Attorney John Creuzot shared a Facebook post of another defense attorney stating why Trevino should be tried as an adult.

Dallas First Responder Vaccinations

Dallas First Responder Vaccinations

Dallas First Responder vaccinations have started in the City of Dallas for first responders from Dallas Fire Rescue (DFR), the Dallas Police Department (DPD) and the Dallas City Marshals.

These efforts were made possible through the Texas Department of State Health Services’ allocation of 2,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Dallas First Responder Vaccinations

Recent new infections have ranged from 1500 to 2000 per day. During the summer Dallas was a hot zone for COVID19 then with far lower infections per capita.

Dallas First Responder Vaccinations Process

The process consists of a check-in, vaccination stations, made up of strike teams (two paramedics and one documentation officer) specially trained to administer the vaccine, and an evaluation area where members can be monitored for potential side-effects before leaving.

The City expects 250 first responders to be vaccinated per day and expects this first Moderna allocation to be followed in the coming months by additional vaccines to inoculate remaining City of Dallas first responders.

In the weeks leading up to the vaccine allocation, DFR, DPD and the Office of Emergency Management put together a plan for a drive-thru style vaccination process using a parking garage at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

In addition to those that will be vaccinated with this allotment, there have been over one hundred DFR members to receive their first round of the vaccine through Parkland Hospital and Dallas County Health and Human Services.

Tracking is being done electronically; first responders will be automatically scheduled for their second round of the vaccine intwenty-eight days.

Outrage Over David Finn Post Shared By DA Creuzot

David Finn Post

A David Finn post on Boxing Day – December 26 – has people angry, but Dallas District Attorney John Creuzot sharing it has them ready to rumble on social media.

David Finn Post

Finn is representing Philip Baldenegro in the criminal trial related to the robbery and murder of Carlos Arajeni-Arriaza Morillo. The case against co-defendant Zephi Trevino recently had Jamie Lee Curtis take out a full page ad in the Dallas Morning News.

Finn accuses Trevino of engineering the robbery despite her family protests she is a victim of sexual trafficking.

David Finn Post

Finn’s post appears to be defending his client on the court steps as opposed to court chambers, but the real outrage came when DA Creuzot shared the David Finn post on his personal Facebook account page.

Texas code forbids prosecutors from speaking about cases against minors so how close this skirts this prohibition is yet to be determined. This case does appear to be tarnishing the Hollywood reputation of Creuzot who has won national ink for ‘prosecution reform’.

Creuzot also appears to have a battle on his hands with the local Democratic Socialists of America chapter.

David Finn Post

Several members of the group or supporters attacked and questioned Creuzot. One went so far as to say his career was “over.”

Trevino is scheduled to have a certification hearing next week on January 4, 2021 to determine if she can stand trial as an adult.

The David Finn Post

The full David Finn posts are below. While he has openly disclosed his home address, we have redacted that over threats of violence Mr. Finn has received.

Democrat Audrey Moorehead Arrested For DWI

Audrey Moorehead

Dallas County criminal court judge Audrey Moorehead was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of driving under the influence, according to Farmers Branch police records.

About 10:43 p.m., Farmers Branch Police officers were called to the 13500 block of Midway Road. Upon arriving on scene they found a white Cadillac had struck a light pole. Judge Audrey Faye Moorehead was placed under arrest on a DWI charge and taken to the Farmers Branch jail.

Audrey Moorehead

Moorehead was released on bond the following day. It has not been determined if Judge Moorehead presided over other criminal cases in the days that followed.

Audrey Moorehead

Moorehead assumed office in Dallas County in 2018. She presides over County Criminal Court 3 and is also listed as member of the Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors.

Moorehead did not face opposition in the 2018 Democratic Party primary, but looks to have insider status. Earlier in the year statewide Democrats nominated Terri Hodge to be a representative of the Democratic Party in the Electoral College.

Hodge had previously served a year in prison for felony tax evasion secondary to bribery.
