Talib sentenced to 37 years in prison for his role in the shooting of a youth football coach Mike Hickmon last summer.

The story was presented here in Other Side Dallas last August.

Aqib Talib and his brother Yaqub Talib were both NFL players prior to coaching in South Dallas.

Neither Talib brother addressed the media heading into the courthouse.

Aqib’s attorney said in a statement at the time of Hickmon’s death that the ex-NFL star was “very distraught and devastated…”

The former Super Bowl champion has not spoken out over it all since.

There was a shooting at youth football game in Lancaster Saturday killing a coach. The nine year old scrimmage took the life of Mike Hickmon.

Hickmon, coach for the South East Dallas Wolverines, is reported to have been shot by former NFL player and North Dallas United coach Yaqub Talib. The team is led by he and his brother Aqib Talib.

Local fire department responders were seen performing CPR on their way out of the field area.

Lancaster Police Department has not returned calls Sunday morning. No arrests have beem made. It appears Mr. Talib is free Sunday morning.

One parent stated this is what happens at unsanctioned events. However, there have been numerous cases of bad behavior by adults in youth sports during sanctioned tournaments.

Talib has reportedly been arrested in Dallas in previous years.

The Texas Rangers youth baseball program continued to use a coach last season after multiple serious allegations against him.

Additionally, umpires are leaving by the dozens from local associations. Some referees and umpires state they have parents follow them to their car.
