Reneé Hall resigns from Dallas Police effective November 10, 2020. Hall’s tenure has been marred by an explosion in Dallas crime over the past two years that is breaking a decades’ old record for violent crime.
Hall has also pushed back against city council critics who want to defund the police budget.

Hall was cited in the city council’s August Public Safety Committee meeting where it appears she was caught lying about the response to the George Floyd protests in late May and early June, particularly the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge incident.
