Per some though her worst sin is her politicism of the seat.
“Incumbent Jaynie Schultz has also abandoned half her voters in her district trying to make this a red-blue partisan race in a nonpartisan district,” said one former Democratic Party precinct chair.
“Jaynie just needed to take care of her constituents the past two years…”
“…instead she lived up to the bad hype: she ran to be something, not do something.”
She went on, “Jaynie has been a disaster on housing. She created quality of life issues for those living in area and hasn’t helped the homeless.”
“Jaynie isn’t even protecting staff trying to clean up these encampments.”
Voters complain Schultz has repeatedly promised weekly clean ups of encampments under I-75, but they don’t happen.
The Dirty D11 Race
Some political onlookers say it appears the low voter turnout has Schultz worried.
There is no top of the ballot reason to get out and vote and Jaynie doesn’t motivate people with her “vanilla service.”
Her staff started emailing out – at taxpayer expense – almost every other day “reports” of district successes and information. The emails could have easily come from a targeted campaign flyer though.
Election day is Saturday, May 6, and right now roughly three percent of eligible city voters have gone to the polls.
Diane Benjamin hijacks meeting on community safety co-hosted between D11 and D13 city council members Jaynie Schultz and Gay Donnell Willis.
Benjamin, who is the mother of failed 2021 D11 city council candidate Barry Wernick, took to complaining to Dallas Police Chief Garcia that this was a photo op for the incumbents.
She then went on to drop a favorite line of Candy Evans that Council Member Schultz voted to remove overtime from the Dallas Police budget. (It is unclear if Benjamin came to attack Schultz at Evans’ direction or not.)
The full video is here, but Ms. Benjamin’s involvement starts are 36:35.

Diane Benjamin Hijacks Meeting – No Mention Of Squirrel Murder
Ms. Benjamin is a local realtor, landlord, and Republican activist.
At the start of her comments she described being robbed at gun point twice in her alley. She however seems to have forgotten the murder in her backyard.
Almost eighteen months ago Benjamin took to Nextdoor to say someone had beheaded a squirrel.
At the time, Dallas Police were assisting on a triple homicide, but Benjamin felt the need to proclaim her self victimization.
Dallas housing socialism appears ready to come to Dallas if some get their way.
The City of Dallas is considering limiting property purchases within city limits and may seek state legislation also.
David Noguera, the Director of Dallas Housing said, “Canada restricts how many foreign investors can come into your market and buy up your real estate.”
Dallas Housing Socialism
Median prices on housing are up more than twenty percent in th Dallas/Fort Worth market over last year and there has been general sticker shock over the tax bills coming due.
Dallas Councilwoman Jaynie Schultz asked “are we working on a bigger policy regarding the scourge of investment buyers?”
Some are not sure this should be a city council priority.
Mark Fuentes, a local landlord, said “Dallas does not need to follow Canada on anything. We need police to respond to emergencies and city council members to follow their own ethics policy.”
“Why do they want to bring Canada’s socialism to Dallas,” he continued.
Dallas has a poor history of affordable housing issues in part because of repetitive corruptions trials where elected officials were getting rich off federal programs and bribes. These have led in some cases to today’s higher tax bills.
Fuentes said, “Dallas can’t even get its permit office to run properly. Why are they going to restrict how I make a living?”
On Saturday, Barry Wernick lost his race for Dallas City Council District 11 to Jaynie Schultz. On Sunday, he acted as if his campaign hadn’t played dirtythroughout the race.
Wernick claims in his Facebook post above that “we have it a good fight without resorting to name calling or personal attacks.” This statement is completely contradicted by his campaign team who admittred in a secret recording to creating fake Facebook posts to create a negative public safety image of the ultimate winner in the race, Jaynie Schultz.
Barry Wernick Results
Despite leading in the May 1 race results, Wernick lost the runoff of June 5 by eight points. Several voters stated the false negative campaigning was their major reason for voting Schultz over Wernick.
Wernick was supported by several Park Cities Republican Women Club members. We are reaching out for their comment about the race results both in District 11 and in other parts of the city they were involved.
The wacky Barry Wernick campaign continues emulating Donald Trump and his dirty tricks in a recently released video where his campaign team admits doctoring a Facebook photo to make runoff opponent Jaynie Schultz more liberal.
The video below makes clear the campaign knew it was doctoring a Facebook photo because they could not run on public safety effectively against Jaynie Schultz.
Schultz who has campaigned for increased accountability of Dallas Police also has said she supports increased interaction between Dallas Police, Richardson Police, and other first responders. She also tackles the growing issue of panhandling on the major thoroughfares through D11. Her website says she wants to “build trust and transparent communication to fight crime.”
Wernick Endorsements
Wernick was rumored to be an Eric Johnson/Keep Dallas Safe supported candidate, but one source says KDS is exasperated by the neophytes running the campaign and its general direction.
One person outside Keep Dallas Safe stated “the GQP has taken over Barry’s campaign with Brad Namdar preparing his Congressional run against Colin Allred and GOP State Chairman Allen West offering a low key endorsement to have a single Dallas City Council member viewed as “conservative.”
The source close to campaign discussions said, “Namdar thinks he is kingmaker despite him increasing the likelihood of Barry losing.”
He continued,” Their strategy is bewildering. In 2020, Biden won the district by almost twenty points, but here is Barry rushing to line up with the alt right instead of focusing on getting things done for the district.”
Keep Dallas Safe (KDS) failed in spectacular fashion at protecting the political strength of Eric Johnson as polls closed on the Dallas City Council election.
While not directly linked, observers noted that KDS was pushing candidates supportive of Eric Johnson’s agenda including pushing out current city council incumbents Jaime Resensez (D5), Adam Bazaldua (D7), and Paula Blackmon (D9).
They sent multiple mailers which some described as “klanlike” and direct from “MAGA World” – a reference to previous support for Donald Trump.
In District 5, Mayor Johnson supported Yolanda Williams who came in third missing the run off, and in District 7 he supported Donald Parish Jr., who also had the endorsements of Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson and State Senator Royce West.
Keep Dallas Safe – Another North Dallas Astroturf Operation?
Earlier this year, Dallas Observer noted Daniel Taylor was linked to a similar astroturf operation in New Orleans where actors were paid to attend public meetings.
In the Dallas City Council elections, Keep Dallas Safe also opposed Paula Blackmon who easily cruised to re-election against two opponents avoiding a run off in Elections 2021. They also chose to attack Jaynie Schultz in D11.
It is unclear how active KDS will be involved with run offs in District 7 and District 11. The other major winner was Chad West who also won his re-election easily.
One campaign staff member stated they were already gearing up for his mayoral run in two years. West has been increasingly outspoken including taking exception with staff over COVID19 vaccine rollouts. Given Johnson’s recent record, there are rumors he may not run for re-election.
